Microline 420,421 and 490,491 Series

Microline 420,421 and 490,491 Series

Important! Front panel settings for built-in print quality and character pitch are overridden by software commands.

These front-panel selectable built-in fonts are arguably more legible and perform much faster than TTF (True Type Fonts) produced by Windows operating system printer drivers.

While it seems intuitive to use a plug n play driver or any other available Windows system driver for your Microline printer - better performance and print quality can be achieved using the printer's built-in fonts. Only the Windows "Generic Text" printer driver will exploit these built-in printer fonts.

To switch between built-in font faces within a single document requires the use of embedded ESC codes within the original document. These ESC codes are documented in the Okidata user's manual.

The Windows "Generic Text" driver cannot produce graphic images like company logos.
